Snow!

Well despite being really busy and not really photographing much recently, the snow did get me out in my boots. Out into our garden to try and track down where the foxes are getting in from, even a city dweller like me can track foxes when they leave foot prints in snow.

ANYWAY - obligatory snow picture:

That's right, it's a picture of coffee in snow - new house, same old life.

Photo Project 1, 9. In the Kitchen

B regularly has me on call to take pictures of her culinary delights, which she then uses on her blog... so again this was an easy one to source an image for.

F5 1/60 sec. ISO 1600 at 38mm on a 15-85mm + Speedlite.

I love the colour on this picture, it's a bit like that vomit of colour you get from HDR photography... but it's all berry red. This cheesecake did not last long.

I had this as a wallpaper for a long time, but it led to me wanting to drink too much coffee.

Photo Project 1, 3. Emotion.

Right, despite what I said on the last picture about avoiding coffee... it's back.

Colours tweaked and given a retro feel. Also, the heart was taken from a different photo as it lined up with the blank side of the mug - which was annoying.

But for those of you who think a wedding photographer should have more emotional pictures than a mug of coffee I have a spare.

It's rare I change the picture ratio - but here it worked well cutting out the stained glass, bringing focus in to the newly weds (Matt & Olivia).

I struggled to re-edit these, as to be honest I'd played with every setting before hand... so if all else fails just make it look more vintage. For bucket loads more emotion visit my portfolio.

Photo Project 1, 1. Morning.

This was an easy one, morning was only ever going to be one thing with me... Coffee.

Taken for the project, just had the contrast played with a little and slight soft focus applied. Making it look a little more abstract.

ii. Coffee

So I'm a little behind with the blogging - mostly as we went to Disneyland last weekend, one of the few trinkets we brought back was this mug... purchased for B from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride it's already been used for Coffee, and the amount of coffee I'm having at the moment is helping me sort all the pictures taken.

Here is one of the photos which has already been stitched together - It's the first time I've stitched long exposure photos, but it came out really well.

The other bonus to doing long exposure photos is that it nearly completely removes the people in the way of the shot. This worked well on the London by night pictures too.

i. Coffee

Anything which winds my other half up seems to hold extra appeal, coffee does this and tastes nice. Win.

Generally it gets converted into 3 sizes:

Huge

 Medium

 Tiny

Now B who complains on a regular basis that her kitchen is too small (for proof check her blog Shiny Pigeon) seemingly hasn't noticed I've taken over a cupboard with coffee items.
